I couldn’t think of a better way to travel Jordan than with Barbara and A Brush with Jordan. Her knowledge of and enthusiasm for Jordan, its art scene and its treasures made this a unique experience. We got to see sides of Amman and Jordan that the regular traveller would not encounter – local people and shops, the best pastries, private art collection, sundowners on a ridge in Wadi Rum… The food was fabulous and plentiful. Even did some good bird spotting.

So many highlights from tasting tiny pastries in the streets of Webdeh to sketching as the sun went down in Wadi Rum: from pistachio ice creams under the pre-Ramadan lights in Amman to walking the ancient streets of the amazing Jerash ruins; from the enviable talent of Adrian Lockhart, our ‘artist in residence,’ to the incredible topography of the Dana biosphere: from the wonderful friendliness of the Jordanian people to the unforgettable magnificence of Petra and of course Barbara, Ahmed and Zacariah our guides.

The small size of the group meant greater flexibility, and the opportunity to explore places in a way we could never have done on our own or in a larger group. It was such a pleasure having so much of our costs covered and to sit back and relax. The personal nature of the airport welcome and departure exceeded our expectations. Barbara, you are an exceptional host, and the selection of restaurants was outstanding in its variety and quality.
We feel so fortunate in having Adrian along in the group and being able to draw on his vst experience and expertise. We appreciated his time, patience and generosity in sharing his knowledge with us.
